I will be comparing Chinese and European cultures, and their use of the compass.

Chinese culture is heavily influenced by Confucianism. Many honor Chinese tradition which includes a strong sense of family, respect for hierarchy, and an appreciation of harmony.

European culture is diverse and rooted in its art, architecture, traditions, cuisines, music, and folklore.

Chinese used the compass for directions. However, the Europeans used the compass to build, for directions, and to guide their way in the sea.
