I will be telling you about my Jiu Jitsu studio. I will tell you how we warm up, how we learn a new skill, and how we wrestle.
We have three warm ups: hop overs, knee on belly, and half guard to guard. Hop overs are where the person on the bottom lies down with their knees facing the sky or ceiling, and the person on top gets in between the opponents legs, puts their face on the opponents hip, and then hops over to the opposite side. Knee on belly is when you get into side control and put one knee on the opponents belly and then turn to the other side of their body. Half guard to guard is were you get in to half guard and the person on bottom will put both hands on the hip of the person on top, then shrimp and get guard.
When we learn a new skill, we line up on the wall and watch our teachers, and then practice it. This method works well because if someone wants to see it again then the teachers can perform the action again.
When we wrestle we are only allowed to use Jiu Jitsu moves. There is no kicking, punching or hitting aloud.
This is how we warm up, how we learn new skills, and how we wrestle.
My fav chapter books are Zoey and Sassafras and Diary of a Pug
